Carriage by Sea
Carriage by sea is one of the principle elements in the multimodal transportation scheme.
Carriage by sea consists of three major categories:
- Container transportation, where cargoes are delivered in a container by sea
- Carriage of solid bulk cargo by sea includes transportation of large quantities of free-flowing substances and materials, such as sand, salt, coal, fertilizers, grain and sugar
- RO-RO ferry services is a term used in the logistics, which was derived from the term roll-on/roll off and which denotes transportation of equipment that is rolled on or off the ferry or ship in a self-propelled mode.
